1.
You will find me in the cloisters. On the cathedral wall. But if you ask the old books I was never here at all, I was never here at all. You may see me as a stag. You may spy me as a hare. But if you ask the river I was never there, I was never there. You’ll find me in Old Queensferry. Where I once a year walk free. And brought to harbour in Eyemouth. For a coronation of the sea. For a coronation of the sea. You may find me during Lammas. Around the summer fairs. Counting time, drinking wine. With Garland Queens and old Straw Bears. With Garland Queens and old Straw Bears. You will see me in the forest. The watcher in the wood. Woodwose, Derg Corra Viridios And Robin of the Hood, And Robin of the Hood. You may catch me in old stories. In songs you'll hear my name. When you think you see my face. It's never twice the same It's never twice the same.
2.
Winter’s veil falls over the land. The fingers of frost on a feather green hand. The birches lace a silvery sky. Where ravens are winging their croaking reply. The valley faded to russet and brown. Where icy veined leaves lie like feathery down. The tangle leads to the woodland edge. Where ruby-jewelled berries adorn the hedge. The fog it blankets the distant hill. The river’s the heart of the dale that beats still. The moss on the millstones of emerald so green. Will not escape the breath of the ice queen.
3.
From in the forest deep the wind does moan. Beneath the Hunters Moon the owl flies alone. We climb the hill from where the rooks have all fledged. The darkness beckons us unto the woodland edge. The river breathes a mist across the valley deep. The clouds unveil the moon, there’s magic in our reach. I take your hand and lead you through the tangled green. The dawn light fades the night and casts a spell unseen. Within the forest deep the owl does moan. Beneath the Hunters Moon we fly alone.
4.
Owlight 04:44
Now summer has closed her eyes. She drifts asleep In the evening light the trees burn golden. And like my heart. The ravens fly. They soar high Clouds send me spinning. Leaves sweetly singing. Day is dissolving. One touch of your lips And we’re falling. Now darkness shrouds the land To secrets keep In the owlight. The moon shines the way home. And like my soul. The wind in the trees It softly sighs. You send me spinning. Heart sweetly singing. Stars are revolving. One breath of the night And we’re falling.
5.
We have ploughed, we have sown, we have reaped, we have mown, all to bring the harvest home.
6.
Arms stretched to the sun. We don’t know what we’ve done. Wheel and turn away to the dying of the day. If you want to know head for the hills of gold. Oh lay me down, and the stars will slow. With the mercy of the moon the rains will reach here soon. Blessed be the grains save the burning of the souls. The pleasure and the pain is not of our design. All that glistens here sweet perfume and wine. So cold our eyes all us broken. Nothing no more no words are spoken.
7.
A Garden of earthly delights, waiting for me to assign, such seeds that we sow. Given to the dream of life, that put you out of your mind, as wild as they grow. They bow their head to me, but it is clear to see, the tears that do fall. Victims of their fates, as melded to mistakes, as weeds to the soil. There’s fennel and there’s columbine, I’m willing them to claim your eyes. See me glide, see me glide. Guided by these death white hands, the rue will spread across your lands. As I process this glassy stream. For me the herb of grace and star crossed be my fate. Blooms beseech my frame float beneath the sky. The willows weeping as the water lilies fade. I lauded you with powers, worshipped at the towers, of beauty and faith. As lovelorn as cornflowers, gifted of night hours, that call your name. We never were before, and now we are no more, nettles kissed by rain. Willows bow to make, their branches bend to break, to see such beauty slain. The fennel and the columbine, so pleased the wait to claim your eyes, so you could see me glide. The truth I bore with these dead hands, the rue that spread across the lands, as I process this glassy stream.
8.
Like a rhyme without a reason. Like words without a sound. Like snowfall out of season. A world turned upside down. The sun goes down at midday. The wheat it turned to wind. The tide went out and didn’t return. The queens devoured their kings. The owls are blind and silent. The trees they never speak. The rivers running upstream. And all the mountains shriek. Like a rhyme without a reason. Like words without a sound. Like snowfall out of season. A world turned upside down. Like the moon at noon with all her stars. And the sun asleep. The clocks are turning backwards. We have no time to keep. A black bird covers all the sky. All the fields they shiver. The great shadow opens up its eyes. They’re coloured meadowsilver. Like a rhyme without a reason. Like words without a sound. Like snowfall out of season. A world turned upside down.
9.
Light glides along the woodland view. Day brought forth anew. All through the forest the sun does creep. And rouse our being from sleep, from sleep. Now bejewelled with sparkling dew. The velvet dark night fades to blue, to blue Campion blooms and gently sways. And our sorrow drifts away.

about

Meadowsilver's album "II" is, fittingly, their second long player.
The album features their “deeply kaleidoscopic” psych-folk stylings, alongside veneration of the landscape, and celebration of community reconstructing “archaic” customs.
It was recorded and mixed September 2021 to February 2022.

Reviews -
"Meadowsilver’s II explores archaic customs through kaleidoscopic electric-folk stylings, occasionally expanding into visions of epic indie." Jude Rogers, The Guardian.

"Exquisite vocals drift elegantly across psychedelic soundscapes". Fortean Times magazine.
